How Marnie Invites Expo Guests

12 Jan

First and foremost, you are most likely to be “found” and thus have the chance to be invited if you follow the steps posted below. This is how 75% of our guests are selected.

The other 25% of our guests are found through targeted keyword searches at a) http://www.WomenSpeakers.com, b) http://www.LinkedIn.com or c) Google.com.

The key to being found in these queries is to be a highly visible expert in your field.  Thus, out of all the people who are vying for top spot, you get it, because you deserve it.  Landing this position in search results requires a lifetime, pro-active approach to your topic.

By following the steps below, you increase your chances of “being found” exponentially. However, your goal is most like to be found by more than just us! In the long run, you need to become “the expert” in your specific niche.  When someone is looking for a guest on that topic, they should see you everywhere – Google, LinkedIn and WomenSpeakers.com. It all works together.

Pick Me! Pick Me!

#1 – Become a Facebook or Twitter party hostess at an upcoming expo. Be a pro communicator there first.
#2 – Develop your expertise, examples and topic until you become a published professional in at least one of the 12 life zones.
#3 – Pitch your training topic to our weekly radio talk show, Marnie’s Friends. To succeed at this stage, first study the Show Guidelines. Scroll to the bottom for guidelines.
#4 – If you get invited, over prepare. Put together excellent talk points, learn to speak in sound bites, practice your illustrative stories, take Media Training. It is important that you do a great job on this interview, even if it is your first. We rarely host the same guest twice, so this is a one-shot deal.
#5 – If you show up professionally and provide quality material delivered with polish, you will automatically be considered for upcoming expos.

As a mentor, I don’t just “host a radio show” or “host expos,” I mentor everyone with whom I work. My goal for you is manifold. I exist to:

  • encourage you
  • train and equip you
  • connect you
  • promote you and then
  • launch you out onto your own

The most blessed stage of my work is when I get to sit back and watch you surpass me in skill, influence and delight in life.

Thank you for the opportunity to sow into your life and ministry. It’s my honor!

Twitter Party Hostessing

4 Jan

If you are already registered to be a Twitter party hostess for the www.WomensMinistryExpo.com, congrats! Read below. If you want to be one, request reciprocal publicity here: http://www.marnie.com/support.php

  1. Make sure your Twitter profile photo and short bio are the best they can be. It’s like going to any party – dress your best!
  1. Feel free to follow anyone with whom you connect at the party. One of the best advantages of a Twitter party is the opportunity to make new Twitter connections! Go for it!
  1. You’ll need to open three tabs or windows for the afternoon:
  1. Start new threads of conversation at Tweetchat.
  • Type a memorable quote you just heard the presenter make or the worship leader sing, using their name, preferably with their Twitter @Name
  •  Provide a link to the speaker/singers website or Twitter page (found at www.WomensMinistryExpo.com by right-clicking on their photo (for the website) or Twitter icon. Select: Copy Link Location. Paste it (Ctl V) into your comment at Tweetchat.
  •  What is being trained live right now? Pitch an “on topic” idea of your own.
  1. Add to existing conversations.
Unlike Facebook, each post at a Tweetchat is a stand-alone comment. You cannot “attach” your comment to theirs. Instead, you’ll let them know you are replying or expanding on their post by using their @Name and then making your comment.
  1. Check your own page frequently to see when gals are @Naming YOU. Tweetchat gets moving pretty fast sometimes. It’s easy to “lose” a reply in the flow. Checking your own page will enable you to quickly scan ONLY those comments in which you are specifically addressed. You may reply at Tweetchat OR from your own page, using #womensministry in the comment. The # notation adds it to the feed at Tweetchat.

Notes:

  • When quoting speakers or songs, use the speaker/singers’ @Name so guests can go follow them.
  • At least every 15 minutes someone should post an invitation to the webinar site (www.WomensMinistryExpo.com) and the Facebook party page (https://www.facebook.com/events/309332805839275/)   It’s amazing how many people are “watching” but don’t have a clue what’s going on!

If you have not yet registered to attend the Expo, do that here: http://www.WomensMinistryExpo.com.

Facebook Hostess Training

4 Jan

If you are already registered to be a Facebook party hostess for the www.WomensMinistryExpo.com, congrats! Read below. If you want to be one, request reciprocal publicity here: http://www.marnie.com/support.php

1.  Show up on time or early, looking good. Just like at any party, your first impression is important. Take time to update your profile picture and bio, and then show up on time or early to help get the party rolling.

2.  Feel free to friend anyone with whom you connect at the party. One of the best advantages of a FB party is the opportunity to make new FB friends! Go for it!

3.  You’ll need to open three tabs or windows for the afternoon:

4.   Start new threads (new comments) on the FB event page.

  • Type a memorable quote you just heard the presenter make or the worship leader sing, using their name.
  • Provide a link to the speaker/singers website or FB page (found at www.WomensMinistryExpo.com by right-clicking on their photo (for the website) or FB icon. Select: Copy Link Location. Paste it (Ctl V) into your comment at FB.
  • What is being trained live right now? Pitch an “on topic” idea of your own.

6.  Add to existing threads. When joining an existing comment/conversation, the key is to stay on “their” topic. Either “like” their comment and/or add a congruent thought, link or idea of your own. The key is to stay on the topic the original poster had in mind. Do allow the comments to migrate, but you shouldn’t be the one to take the thread off topic. If you want to say something new/different, start a new comment/thread.

7.   Check your notifications frequently to see when gals comment on a thread that is now lower down on your page. The notifications buttons is found just left of the search bar on the top of your FB page. (the globe icon)

8. At least once per hour, post something interesting about the party on your own FB page. This will catch the attention of gals who are online during the party.

Notes:

  • It is helpful to include people’s names (allowing FB to pull up/enter their “FB name”). This posts your comment not only within the party space but also on their own wall so their connections can see the thread.  Note: People have different settings – some do not allow it to post without their approval, etc. Let them worry about that. It’s polite to include the name of, say, speakers, singers, etc. when quoting them.
  • I don’t recommend that you “mass invite” people to a FB party – it’s sort of tricky to say “no” and sometimes people feel “trapped” if they can’t stop the feed on party day. Instead, post invites on your own FB page and let THEM link over if interested. Another way is to invite them on their own page.  The link to the party page is https://www.facebook.com/events/309332805839275/  Do invite – just don’t “mass invite” using the party invitation system.
