Confused? Read This.

12 Feb

I received a sweet note today from a gal whose pastor had said something confusing to her. Here was my reply to her, and hopefully it will help you, too.

Thank you for sharing this with me. Re: Your pastor’s answer

1) Take that to heart. Put it into the big basket of God’s call on your life, weighing it carefully in the mixture of what your husband says, what others are telling you and what you are being told via Scripture, songs, etc. God is speaking to you in many ways, not just one.

2) Never cling to a call, a vision, a person, etc. Only, ever, cling to Jesus. Then, if like your pastor feels, God takes you toward His goal for you via a confusing route, you will be at peace. It is never about the “project”, but always about the “PROJECT” — which is God conforming us to His image.

3) Release any feelings of frustration toward your pastor, or God, for making things blurry. Following Jesus is supposed to be one-step-at-a-time. Which means that anything other than the next step is not visible. This leads to greater faith. Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.

Blessings to you! Can’t wait to see what all this was about (from the other side). I always think heaven is going to be tons of fun, just for the clear perspective alone.
