Food Strategy I: 2012

9 Jan

My #1 food tip for 2012 is to Eat with God. It’s first and foremost what’s happening in your subconscious mind that matters. Way, way before any type of eating or exercise plan will work, you’ve got to be on your own team! So, trek on over to www.EatingwithGod.com and start letting God change your mind–your subconscious mind, about your relationship with food.

Another of my co-presenters at MotivationMarathon.com, is Forbes Riley submitted the fitness tip: Find a few minutes a day to change you body and keep you motivated to achieve your 2012 health and fitness goals by using a quick-results workout plan. Forbes invented a machine called SpinGym – from www.SpinGym.com– and there are many other options out there as well. The key is to find an exercise you enjoy that can fit into the minutes you can carve out of your schedule. If you hate it or if you don’t have time for it, you’ll quit it. But if you find the workout you love and you can do it in the minutes you have, you’re highly likely to stick with it!

A few weeks after the launch of my new website, Better Than a Diet, God orchestrated a “chance meeting” with Dr. Michele May. He went on to use her extensive research to confirm to me what He had been asking me to teach, even though I was still in the learning curve myself.

It is my great joy to introduce you to one of my newest friends, and to her awesome research and training entitled, “Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat.”

“Eat What You Love” says Dr. Michelle May

24 Sep

How do you decide whether or not to take that next bite? Do you keep eating until the food is gone? Maybe you base your intake on the behavior of those around you. Or, possibly you don’t have any reasonable way to determine when to stop eating… and you find that you are often eating too much.

This past summer God gifted me with the programs outlined at BetterThanaDiet.com. Finding myself still severely overweight (see photo), it took extreme courage to publish this information!

I am still personally learning about all of this, but I am content with where God has me now on the way to where He is taking me; and I am convinced, by faith, that Eating with God is His answer for millions of currently obese Americans. family

I acted by faith, not sight.

Then, last week, due to a set of circumstances that I could never have orchestrated, had I tried, I was able to meet Dr. Michelle May, to get her book, and to learn that it is just awesome!

She is a doctor, she is thin, she has helped others lose excess poundage, and she teaches concepts that encourage us as we learn to Eat with God.

I believe that the training included in Eating with Gratitude and Eating with God answer the question of “How?” we can eat with joy. But, if you are like me, I’ve had some “Why? When? What? How much? and Where?” questions, the answers to which a naturally thin person intuitively knows.

Dr. Michelle May’s book, Eat What You Love – Love What You Eat, is being released to bookstores right now. She has agreed to do an interview with me for Marnie’s Friends, but in the meantime, you can check out her book Eat What You Love – Love What You Eat.

While Eating with God is what I plan to be doing for the rest of my life, I am excited for the additional “non-diet” support provided by this newly released resource.

I encourage you to check out both Dr. May’s book, and, if you haven’t already joined us, sign up for America’s 31 Day Experiment. Eating should (and can) be a wonderful experience. So, let’s get going!

Do You Think Other Ministries Are Stealing Your Ideas?

2 Sep

Over the years I have received many emails from gals who have felt like another ministry had stolen their great idea. I have always responded in the same way:

Even if it seems true, tread lightly!
It is probably of God.

My own release of Eating with God two weeks ago was nearly simultaneous with Jennifer Rothschild’s teaching released this week entitled, “Hungry?”

We are both mentors to women’s ministry leaders, and without speaking to each other, we shared a strong God-focused, food-related encouragement with our groups. It reminds me of how often the pastor’s message perfectly matches the Sunday School lesson, even when they have not coordinated it.

Here is another example. This past spring I interviewed two authors of two women’s Bible Study books by the same title, “Beauty by the Book.”

My comment to both was that this topic must be of vital importance to God, to allow both of them to write an entire book on it, by the same title, at about the same time. [These are both super books--check them out!]

Next time you are tempted to view a simultaneous “release” of a ministry idea, product or resource as a personal affront, step back a bit! Ask yourself…

If I was God, how would I get an important message out
to all 6,781,420,581 of My people?

I have always believed that God prompts several of His “kids” (His ambassadors on earth) with the same concept, idea or story line at the same time because He is efficient and He knows that the task is usually too big for just one.
